Jason Wilson has been teaching for 18 years, and has spent the last ten at Oscar Peterson and Orchard Park in Stouffville. In 2007, he started a robotics club and robotics competition team at the school. Each year his teams have won top awards at the YRDSB Robotics Championships. For the last seven years, he has coached the Cyber Jazz Robotics Team that has won numerous provincial championships and awards in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) and Skills Canada. In 2012, they were invited to represent Canada at the World Open Invitational Championships in Florida. He has trained students and staff in several schools on how to use robotics to teach science and math concepts. He has convened the elementary robotics events at the Ontario Skills Competition, and currently convenes the YRDSB Robotics Championships.
Dave Ellis is the Ontario Director of FIRST Lego League Robotics and a teacher in Toronto. He has introduced robotics to hundreds of children, parents and teachers through his robotics clubs and training workshops. From 2005-2007, his school teams held the TDSB Championship title and won several awards at the provincial championships. After years as a successful team coach, he has turned his attention away from mentoring individual teams, and now puts his time and energy into promoting robotics across the province by training teachers and other adults who are interested in starting their own robotics programs.
